After decades of working in my “day job", I’ve dreamed of pursuing a career following my passion for photography. For as long as I can recall, I have loved travelling and photographing my surroundings.

I obtained one of my first decent cameras when living in an underground “dugout” while working in a remote opal mining town in Outback Australia. I swapped my wages for camera gear and a stunning opal for my girlfriend! I no longer have that camera, but that girlfriend has been my wife since not long after that. For the past few years, my day job has seen me taking on short term positions in remote areas of Australia. This has enabled me to combine my passion with my profession.
When I could, I’d try to capture the unique perspectives that aerial photography gives. Photographing while leaning out of a Cessna with the doors off is an exhilarating, challenging but very expensive past-time. Luckily the advent of drones has made aerial photography more accessible.
I have long visualised my surroundings as if through a virtual viewfinder. Now that I no longer need to concentrate on my "day job", I can concentrate full time on capturing what I see.

My first journey to the rugged, remote Quobba Coastline of Western Australia, happened during the early days of the Covid pandemic. I had planned to be in the area for three weeks but had to scurry back to my home state just prior to WA effectively closing its border to the rest of Australia for nearly two years.
Fortunately, prior to me evacuating from WA, I was able to journey out to the remote Indian Ocean coastline of Quobba station where powerful ocean swells force water through sea caves  up out of narrow holes in the rocks. Jets of water sometimes, 20 metres high, erupt into the air, creating a spectacular sight.
This  coast can be deadly, with a dangerous swell that can turn into king waves, capable of crashing over the top of the rock ledge, sweeping you into the boiling ocean and almost certain death.

It is unsurprising, that a very prominent sign greets you when you arrive at the coastline. "King Waves Kill"
This part of the coastline is extremely windy, so drone flying is risky.

Fortunately I have been able to fly when I have visited the area and capture this and other stunning images.
I am passionate about the environment and believe we all need to take better care of our fragile world.  My motto is-
“A birth certificate shows we were born, a death certificate shows we died, but photos show we lived”
I believe that you home would look incredible with my image on your walls
I hope that your purchase will bring you years of enjoyment.
