It was a beautiful drive down a mountain pass under a brilliant blue sky! We were out for a drive to look at the beauty near Photo taken near Crested Butte, Colorado, in the San Juan Rocky Mountains. My husband and I had made the 1,200 mile trek up from Texas to soak in the fall aspen colors. I love the golden colors, and also hope to see some red in the leaves, as it is so colorful but not as common. Then, we rounded a curve on the dirt road we were driving down and wow!! There it was! A whole mountainside of color! A sea of gold, with dashes of a grove of intensely vivid red aspen trees rising high to the sky. It literally took my breath away with their intensity.
