Hi there! My name is Sandy Dobbs and I am a passionate landscape photographer.
Yes - this sunset really looked like that!
This spot is literally one of my most favorite views in the world, and literally one of the most beautiful places in North America! The peaks of Grant Teton National Park are known for being one of the most beautiful spots in North America. When you stand there in front of them, it is easy to see why. The jagged peaks soar above the valley below, and the snake river mirrors their reflections. When I think of being in my "happy place", this view is always one that comes to mind. I have spent many sunrises in this spot because the sun rises and hits the peaks in the morning. In the evening, it is much harder to capture because the sun is going down on the other side of the mountains, creating more of a silhouette. We went here several evenings in a row, hoping to actually capture a beautiful sunset. This time, it happened! The sunset was so intense and so vivid, it seemed to literally reach out and wrap around us, glowing all over the landscape. I captured the photo to share the magic and its view to share with you.
