In September of 2021 I had a severe ventral hernia that was the result of being rear ended by another driver on the Taconic Parkway, repaired. The hernia was in the scar of a previous surgery from the repair of a volvulous that almost killed me. I finally got clearance from the Doctor to start excersizing again. In typical Alec fashion I went a little nuts one day. I drove up to the trail head going up to the top of Stissing Mountain in Pine Plains NY. Its an awesome hike up. A little steep and a little rough but not the worst Ive ever done. I got to the top went up the fire tower there, took a bunch of shots, hiked back down. Shouldve been enough right? Nah, not for Alec. I then drove down to Beacon NY and followed what used to be the old incline railway tracks to the top of Mt Beacon. Its really steep! took a bunch of shots from up there. Then drove down across the Bear Mountain Bridge,through West Point to Rt 218 and went to the overlook that looks over the river from Storm King Mountain. Thats where I shot this. The view from all 3 of those places is stunning. I told my wife what I did when I got home. She was not happy with me and called dumb and stupid and a few other choice endearments but she knows me... LOL
