Hi there! My name is Sandy Dobbs and I am a passionate landscape photographer. This is one of my all time favorite ever landscape photos! I had heard about the beauty of Moraine Lake for years, but never thought I would get the opportunity to go and photograph it. Then, my husband and I made the decision to take a trip of a lifetime and go to Canada to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. I planned and planned was SO excited! It took all kinds of trouble to get there, including getting up at 3:30 a.m. to go battle for a spot at the parking area, and then a hike up to where the best photo opportunity was. We were surrounded by so many people with cameras on tripods, but that was OK, because the beauty showed off for all of us. As we stood there, the sun began to rise, and a golden glow bathed the already stunning mountain peaks and reflected onto the incredible turquoise water. I just kept snapping and could not stop until we had to leave. The trip of a lifetime became an incredible experience! I have taken mountain sunrise photos all over the Rocky Mountains, but this spot can't be beat. I captured the photo to save the moment and its view to share with you.
