I was exploring Northern Michigan, cruising from Munising to Marquette on a misty morning. With a hazy Lake Superior to my right, I was lost in admiration, the lake's vastness stretching out beside me. As I soaked in the beauty, my mind drifted, and my focus was solely on Lake Superior and it's grandness.
For some reason, I glanced in my rearview mirror. That’s when I saw them—waterfalls, right off the highway on the opposite side of the road. There was no one behind me, so I hit the brakes, made a quick U-turn, and drove back. I couldn't believe I had almost missed them!
I parked, grabbed my camera and tripod, and walked down to the falls. It was Scott Falls, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The winter snow melt had started, so the waterfalls in the area were running fast and full.
I spent the next hour capturing the falls from various angles and vantage points, trying to do justice to their beauty.
I love Michigan for moments like these—unexpected adventures and breathtaking scenery around every corner. This experience at Scott Falls was one of many highlights of my trip, and I felt grateful to have stumbled upon it. The magic of Northern Michigan had struck again, and I was lucky enough to capture it.
