Hi there! My name is Sandy Dobbs and I am a passionate landscape photographer. I captured this image in the summer of 2009 when my husband and I decided to visit Yosemite to see the "big trees" of Yosemite National Park. We had never been to California before, but this park is absolutely the best of California's scenery. Beautiful waterfalls, soaring granite cliffs and beautiful peaceful valleys go along with those big sequoia trees! I had read that the sunset that often happened at the to view Half-Dome was not to be missed, so we took our camera gear and went for sunset. When we got there, there was a huge crowd, and it was actually a rather enjoyable way to be in a crowd. We all sat down on big rocks to "watch the show" as the sun went down. We heard all different languages being spoken besides our own- German, Italian, Korean, Japanese and several others. People come from around the world to visit the National Parks in the United States and enjoy their beauty. We all sat and visited as we watched the sun go down, and a warm golden glowed bathed the monolith that is Half Dome, lighting up the sky.
